Aya-ayacucho!

Andes - 4300m
Semana Santa? I wonder what was santa there :P

Meeting point: La Marina, Lima, 9:30pm. Being on time is important, we are going with some random for us people. As always :P

10h in the bus went quite fast - the road through Andes was totally amazing. At one point we were at more than 4300alms!

Ayacucho welcome us with a really great weather, woman in traditional dress and thousands of tourists (average height increase 10cm). Thursday is the day for visiting 7 main churches, not for processions, so after something between lunch and dinner we went to the viewpoint. The view was amazing, the city is surrounded by mountains and is breathtaking.

At night we went to the party (of course). Salsa, huayno, beer and a lot of fun all night long :)

Next day was truly touring - Museo Archeologico and the huge statue on the place of the battle of Ayacucho. Pictures with a cute little girl in traditional dress and with a cute little lama - checked!

Street arts before the procession
In the meantime in Ayacucho all day long people were preparing for the procession. It's totally different than in Andalusia. In Sevilla or Malaga there are so many procession that you need a special timetable  to know what is where and when. Each procession is prepared by different organisation, and what is more important they have cloths like ku-klux-klan. Here there is only one procession and people are in suits or traditional dresses. But companies and organisations are preparing huge pictures on the street. It looks amazing. Ah, yes and here there is no space for paid places, all square is full of people.

Waking up after a party on Satrurday was a little bit hard, but we managed to be on Plaza de Armas at 10 to see Pascuatoro. We even have a good places on the bench :) The main square is full of people in red t-shirts who wait for a bull. First some horse riders come and try to make a little bit of room, usually no success . Then finally one rider come with a bull on the string and people run away. In this year there were four bulls, but only one was a little bit crazy and make some more mess on the square. It's fun, much better than corrida.

Pascuatoro
Even with our nice place we were quite far from the bull, so afterwards we went to our private pascuatoro and run with a little bit smaller bull on the grass. It was even funnier :)

Ok, high time to change a place. 10 people in one taxi and after few minutes we are in the different part of city with huge outside party. Music, dancing, a lot of beer and rain in the middle. Everybody was totally wet, but who cares, we had fun :)

During the night Plaza de Armas was full of people celebrating and waiting for a main procession at 4am. Incredible atmosphere! There was also one of the best firework show I've ever seen. Big something looks good even without any light, but with all the special effects it's totally awesome!

After the show we went to the party and had a lot of fun till the early morning - of course we came back to the plaza to see the procession! The figure is really impressive.
The main procession
And this is more or less all :) Sunday morning - get on the bus, 10h and we are almost at home :)
